If you work in education and you’re tired of replacing broken furniture every few years—this might help.
When we sat down with Principal Tina Filipo from James Cook High School, she said something simple but powerful:
“I like the way that you worked with me to find a solution that's going to be adaptable and useful.”
Tina didn’t just want desks. She wanted:
Something that could handle heavy wear from students
A surface that could be reused across different types of table frames
A product that fit her vision for the look and feel of the school
A material that didn’t create more waste every few years
We worked with Anson from Spacebar Design in this project to install a modular system using Critical. Cleanstone—a material made from 100% recycled plastic.
And these tops took less than 3 minutes to install.
They’re malleable, circular, and built to last.
And Tina’s already thinking bigger:
“What if we used this across other parts of the school? On the sides of our buildings? To shift how our whole environment feels?”
This is what real circular design looks like—when solutions are built in partnership with people who use them every day.
