An up and coming sustainable daycare Village Green will soon launch in Remuera and it features Critical. Cleanstone across the build.
But Rui, how do you level the thickness variation in Cleanstone at the butt join? Well whānau, our mate Anson from Spacebar Design are doing the install will show you how in this video. And it's simple.
1. Position both Cleanstone panels in place. Because Village Green chose the Clear Cleanstone, which is made from 100% recycled soft plastics - these panels have slightly more flex.
2. To manage the load around the sink, Anson framed around the sink cutout with 4 pieces of 18mm plywood beneath.
3. They then created blocks out of offcuts to used as packers, pushing areas where there is variation so that it aligned seamlessly and screwed the packing blocks into position.
4. Once that's done the joints will then be plastic welded and finished at the seam. In this case, Spacebar Design will be using a hot glue gun.
And that's it. Simple lol.
Ngā mihi nui Village Green for choosing Cleanstone - there is a lot of plastic waste diverted into this build so more stats to come soon. Can't wait to see it all fitted in where Cleanstone will be featured as benchtops and splashbacks across all the rooms, as toilet dividers as well as locker doors.
Shot to the bro Anson for another incredible install-in-progress. Checkout Spacebar Design's mahi as they are incredibly detailed craftsmen. No we don't have shares in Spacebar nor are we related ... but probably are if we go back far enough... 😂
