This is what recycled plastic looks like when you use it right whānau!
Designed by the talented Jade Hurst, both the designer (Good Space) and owner of Village Green Daycare, their new lockers and benchtops look incredible sharp in Critical. Cleanstone! But here’s what most people won’t see.
They’re made from 100% recycled soft plastics. Soft plastics that would’ve otherwise taken 400+ years to break down in landfill.
And they’re built to handle sticky fingers, water spills and years of wear.
Childcare and education fit-outs see some of the heaviest use in interior design.
According to recent findings, school and daycare surfaces are replaced up to 3x more often than corporate or hospitality spaces.
And every time a surface is replaced? That’s more waste. More carbon. More cost. That’s why we built Critical. Cleanstone to last.
Not just physically—but visually. It’s easy to clean, doesn't stain, and doesn’t peel or chip like laminate or veneer.
So when designers specify materials for high-traffic zones like this—they’re not just choosing what looks good. They’re choosing what sticks around.
And Village Green is setting a new standard—not just in sustainability, but in values.
Their kaupapa centres around connecting tamariki to nature, grounding learning in the world around them. That intention flows through everything. Including the materials they choose - and we'll show in an upcoming video!
Want to spec a material that stands up to real-world use—and still makes your project award-worthy?
