Kia Australia’s Melbourne Pavilion Proves the Future of Fit-Out Is 100% Recycled

Kia Australia Pty Ltd launched their new Pavilion in Melbourne last year and it featured Critical. Cleanstone. The future of fit out materials is 100% recycled.

Designed and installed by our mates at Frank Wild, they cladded the bar surrounds with our Clear Cleanstone - made from 100% recycled soft plastics.

And with the soft edge back lighting - I don't think anyone would have guessed it's made from old plastic wrap.

And I believe that's really important if we want to accelerate the growth of circular materials as the new normal in construction.

Sustainability, circularity and zero carbon are all great values to pursue. But if the product doesn't look good or is not fit for purpose, no one will use it.

As as a founder of Critical. that's the thesis I've been working on for years now.

Because you can have the world's most planet saving product. But if it's not 'cool', or if it doesn't help make your customer's successful. No one cares.

This is why I love entrepreneurship so much. It's subversive.

You work hard to give people what they want, and it turns out in time it's what they actually needed all along.

Anyways, bringing it back to the point - congrats to our mates Kia Australia Pty Ltd for leading the way and Frank Wild for your flawless execution. Looks stunning. I'll swing by next time I'm in Melbourne ❤️

And if you're working on a cool space, drop me a DM or visit cleanstone.criticaldesign.nz - I'd love to connect and help.
