More classrooms using 100% recycled plastic table tops over old desk frames!
Manurewa High School is rolling out more #Sustainable and #circular Cleanstone table tops made from 100% #recycledplastic and recycled #oceanplastic panels onto existing classroom table bases that would have otherwise gone to landfill.

And Pete Jones, Manurewa Highschool's tumuaki is leading the movement towards a future where Aotearoa's classrooms can be retrofitted to be more elegant, functional and have a very low impact on te taiao.

Pete specified the colours, shapes and sizes to be cut from Critical. Cleanstone, transforming old single desk frames into collaboration tables that can cater for more learners. We made the panels, cut them to shape and then the assembly was done by rangatahi at their school.

These new table tops will now last over 20 years to a lifetime! It's tough, 100% water proof and doesn't have any breakable veneers or edgings you can peel off. And if the surfaces get scratched over the years, it can be easily sanded out to look as good as new.

And the best part about this is that it costs less than buying a new desk.

If your kura or a kura you know are in need of new classroom tables, perhaps instead of buying new, you could retrofit existing bases with beautiful new Cleanstone tops? Jump on our #Circular #Classrooms waka!

Comment the name of the #principal at your local school who might be keen below and let's kōrero!
