Radio New Zealand interview Rui about the future of sustainable classrooms

Ngā mihi nui Jesse Mulligan and RNZ for the live interview yesterday. I appreciate the platform to share about Critical.'s programme of retrofitting old classroom desk frames with new Cleanstone desktops.

The future of classrooms is beautiful and circular. Our work with Manurewa High School to retrofit the kura's 690x old desk frames with new 100% recycled plastic desktops is proof of how a simple decision schools can make can have a massive impact on the environment. This rollout is both world leading and a world first and could set the standard for the rest of Aotearoa and beyond.

Looking across the world, with an average of over 70% of teachers and 80% of students feel the urgency to act on sustainability and climate change now - our educators and rangatahi are both calling for change.

Ministry of Education New Zealand - I'd love to talk. What might a standard and roll out look like for us here at home in Aotearoa?

Kia ora Pete Jones for your visionary approach to education and for putting kaitikitanga into practice at your school!
