Revolutionising Design: See How Aotearoa's First Changing Shed Made from 100% Recycled Plastics Is Shaping the Future of Sustainable Architecture

Think 100% recycled plastic can't create stunning architecture? Think again. Here's a sneak peek at Aotearoa’s first changing shed built with ocean plastics and soft packaging.

Sarosh Mulla from Pac Studio have designed Aotearoa’s first-ever changing sheds with Critical. Cleanstone as roofing and wall lining—each panel made from post-consumer packaging, soft plastics, and vibrant orange fishing nets. 🌿

This project is more than just a build; it’s another powerful example of circular design in action, marrying beautiful, durable aesthetics with a commitment to reducing waste and minimising carbon emissions.

With studies showing that the built environment contributes to around 40% of global CO2 emissions, using recycled materials like Cleanstone can drastically lower embodied carbon by up to 1,250 times if used in place with materials using virgin minerals, polymers and chemicals. Plastic waste to Critical. is an incredible resource. 🌎✨

And our mates at New Wave Construction are doing an epic job bringing this vision to life. And this Thursday, we’re excited to drop Part 1 of 3 of our video series capturing the entire process from start to finish. Ben from New Wave will be sharing his experiences on working with Cleanstone, tips for achieving stunning finishes, and insights that could help level up your next build.

So stay tuned for the video release and I'd love to hear your questions and thoughts about this design below. Your feedback will help me shape Critical.'s future products. 💬
